How Can I Obey God?

That is the million dollar question for 2017. Do you obey God? That is the key to life and happiness for me in Christ Jesus. My advice for 2017 - Do What God Says, When He Says, How He Says, Where He Says, and with or without Whom He Says. Partial obedience is the greatest enemy of God’s will for you. (Don’t rationalize under your understanding) Remember it's God's Will Not Yours

Today's inspiration came from In Touch Ministries

Daily Action Items

  1. TRUST HIM – where is your trust in Him, what is your trust level? Believe in Him for all things

  2. WAIT ON HIM – always wait upon the Lord, remember it’s His timing not Yours

  3. PRACTICE PATIENCE & FAITH IN HIM – again wait upon the Lord with a good attitude and praise Him in the mist of all things

  4. MEDITATE ON HIS WORD DAY AND NIGHT – I pray consistently, praying is not just in church or on your knees, I talk to God all day long using my thoughts, God is with me always, where ever I go in this life. He is my best and sometimes only Friend. This is how we receive answers and hear from Him, always go to His Word… you must have an “Open Bible” I once heard the devil is not afraid of a dusty bible. How often to you open yours up? Smile TBN, has a book called the names of God, today’s message hit the spot for me: Jehovah Elohay, “God wants a personal relationship with all of His children; He is Jehovah Elohay – the Lord My God. He wants His name to be the One we call on in our time of need, but that will only happen if His children see Him as a personal God – as MY God, MY Light, MY Savior, MY Redeemer, MY Defender, MY Shepherd, MY Help, MY Friend in time of need. Likewise, when God looks upon you He says, “That is My Creation.” As it says in Song of Solomon 6:3, “I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine.” OBEY TODAY AND ALLOW GOD TO PLAN YOUR TOMORROW – JUST BE OBIENDENT

  5. EMBRACE CONFLICT – be willing to experience conflict without getting upset and losing your faith, instead embrace it… example my weight gain, is an opportunity to dig deeper and truly learn to lean on God… not in diets or routine plans …smile Be Smart, but ensure your Trust is in Him --- other examples: Noah and the Ark and Marching around Jericho

  6. RELEASE – LEAVE THE CONSEQUENCES TO HIM – If you are obeying God, He will provide and deal with any consequences of that decision, again the path leads back to trust in Him

  7. ACCEPT HIS CORRECTION WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN DISOBEDIENT – you are not perfect and will make mistakes, learn from them, accept Your Father’s correction. (Again … we are to embrace not just the good, but all that comes to us in this life, face it with Him) PATIENCE, FAITH, AND TRUST Correction is an act of love, think of a good parent, sometimes in love we must say NO

  8. PRAISE HIM – thank God for who HE is and for HIM not allowing you to move in the wrong direction, if you don’t trust God, who can you trust --- YOU (ugly thought) Sad Face

  9. REMEMBER – WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE IN CHRIST JESUS

Key Scriptures

Hebrews 5:7-8 New Living Translation (NLT)

7 While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God. 8 Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.

Hebrews 11:8 New Living Translation (NLT)

8 It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.

Joshua 1:9 New Living Translation (NLT)

9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
